February 2010

Week 52! I have finished my blog project. So, it’s July of 2013 instead of February of 2012, when I originally intended to finish the project. It took me just a little longer to accomplish this than I had thought. I’ve learned a lot through the process. Over the past two and a half years I have photographed and published two separate year-long projects that I did in the year 2000 and 2010. Both projects were about recording the days of my life. Both projects were visual. I am both excited and sad to have it done.

The part of me that is sad to see the blog end would like Visual Days to continue in a new way that involves more than just me. This part depends on you! I have shared two different years of my life in visual ways. Now I’m asking you,

“What does your day look like?”

You have seen my examples of 4x6” collaged postcards and small objects. But I am only one person. I am curious what other people’s days might look like. Is your day a picture, a list, a piece of art, a message, a receipt, or an object? Is your day a sad or happy day, a great day, or the worst day? Is your day from the past, or is it today? Is it a special day like a birthday, anniversary, or holiday? Or is it just an average day like most are? Throughout both of my projects, I have found that the ordinary is sometimes the most extraordinary.

If you would like to participate, email me an image of what your day looks like. I will format it and publish the images with the date on Visual Days. Your visual day can be totally anonymous, but if you would like to include your location please do. All I ask is that you tell what date your image represents, either in the image or in the email. I will update the blog with every 10-20 images I receive. I’m interested to see how one day can mean many different things to many different people.

Send your image to hdauphin21@yahoo.com with Visual Days Image in the subject line. I can’t wait to see what your day looks like! Thanks for participating in this blog and for continuing Visual Days.
